Terminal Services For InTouch
Terminal Services for InTouch extends the usefulness and robust features of InTouch® software to the Terminal Services environment. In addition to all of the rich features that the InTouch HMI offers, Terminal Services allows users to install the InTouch HMI on a central server once and then execute the software multiple times. Client computers need only connect to an InTouch terminal session that resides on the server. The thin client could be a PC terminal or an embedded terminal device running on any one of a variety of operating systems.
Users throughout the enterprise will be able to access, visualize and interact with real-time HMI information from Wonderware's InTouch software, without a full-blown InTouch installation resident on the local computer.

Lower Total Cost of Ownership
The Terminal Services architecture permits centralized deployment, maintenance and management of software, re-use of existing hardware, and thin-client terminal usage to reduce the total cost of ownership associated with a project. Market research has shown that the majority of the costs associated with a project are obtained after the system is deployed. The Terminal Services architecture significantly decreases the amount of time and money spent to upgrade, maintain and troubleshoot a system. Terminal Services also enables the re-use of existing hardware. Instead of purchasing new hardware and installing new networks, the benefits of the latest operating systems and software applications can be brought to the existing system. This results in much faster deployment and a significantly reduced hardware costs.

In addition, thin-client terminals can be used in place of regular computer nodes to provide additional low-cost views into the application or replacements for indicating devices, such as chart recorders or temperature controllers.
The Terminal Services for InTouch HMI provides all of the benefits of thin-client technology, while reducing the overall cost of system ownership.
In order to fully exploit the benefits of the client/server architecture, the InTouch HMI enables the application developer to utilize Remote Tag Referencing. Remote Tag Referencing allows the developer to create the InTouch application without using any local tagnames. At runtime, the client nodes connect to the tag server to access information. Remote Tag Referencing enables companies to save time and money, because users can create one template and re-use it several times
